Super Harvest Blood Moon

Michael Schumacher / Amarillo Globe-News
Three separate lunar events converged Sunday night, September 27, 2015 over Amarillo, Texas. A total eclipse coincided with a full moon nearest the fall equinox, known as a harvest moon, during a supermoon event, when the moon is at its closest approach to earth for the year. It’s being called a Super Harvest Blood Moon by experts. The rare blood red supermoon was seen rising over the Cross at Redeemer Christian Church in Amarillo Sunday night.
